This is a question Desperate Times

Stranded in a hotel in an African war zone with no internet access for two weeks, I was forced to resort to desperate measures. Possessing only my passport and the clothes I stood up in; and the warning "You can catch it shaking hands with a vicar out there" ringing in my ears, I had to draw my own porn in order to preserve my sanity.

Alas, it all came out looking like Coronation Street's Audrey Roberts, but, as they say, any port in a storm.

What have you done in times of great desperation?

Just now
I've just had breakfast. It consisted of a HP sauce sandwich and a cup of tea made with a pre-loved (that's the term I prefer to use) bag. Nuff said.

I'm also perched in an obscure position next to my front window with my home made (Pringles tubes & tinfoil) Wifi booster aerial, so I can steal internet from somebody a couple of streets away.

Got a feeling my post breakfast fag might be out of the ash tray as well...

As students
my flatmates used to dry out used teabags for re-use. Quite normal behaviour I believe. I don't drink tea or coffee, so never had the need for this sort of thing.

BTW, my Macs are hard as fuck, and definitely not gay.

It's the way they try to be your friend, which I don't like. I have enough friends, my computers are tools.

The Wifi thing is well good actually, without it I can pick up 11 networks, with it 29 so it is boosting the signal a fair bit. Unfortunately most of them are WPA encrypted, people have got wise to no password (or WEP, which is effectively the same thing)

You should have toasted tthe bread
I lived on toasted brown sauce sandwiches for months as a student. With cheese when we were feeling particularly loaded.
