This is a question My Biggest Disappointment

Often the things we look forward to the most turn out to be a huge let down. As Freddy Woo puts it, "High heels in bed? No fun at all. Porn has a lot to answer for."

Well, Freddy, you are supposed to get someone else to wear them.

What's disappointed you lot?

Boy- I feel pretty lucky
Generally life has been kind to me and reading some of the more heartfelt efforts here has served to remind me of this.

My only dissapointment that I'd count as lasting is the damage to my ankle I sustained as a kid. This has left it teeming with pins and vulnerable to further damage. This means that ever since, I've been loathe to do mad endorphin laden things like leap out planes and "action" holidays because it might be the bit that gives up and suffers further damage. In the great scheme of things this is not the end of the world.

I am a pessimist though- in August I will start a new job as a manager for the first time (the youngest in the company no less), staying in an industry I love for more money and my commute reduced from 104 miles a day to 12. I should be elated but instead I'm terrified I'm going to blow it instead.

Good luck with it!
You'd be a cocky little scrote if you weren't nervous and feeling out of your depth. Perfectly normal, healthy even.

Good luck with it!

Ankles
Aaargh!

After getting my ankle broke in a 'fracas' new year's eve 2006, I ended up with a plate and screws being inserted - cue months in a cast, then got an infection in the wound which took months to heal up.

Then everything was well for a few months until every time I wore my work boots, my ankle was in PAIN. Turned out the screws were working their way out - trip to the the clinic (not THAT one...) ended up with me having the plate etc. removed in February this year.

5 months on, I have another infection, a gaping hole in my ankle, and can't dance (ok, I've never been able to dance, but it's not stopped me).

On the bright side, I love my job (I can browse B3ta most days...) and my cat hasn't disowned me (yet)
