This is a question Dodgy work ethics

Chthonic asks: What's the naughtiest thing a boss has ever asked you to do? And did you do it? Or perhaps you are the boss and would like to confess.

Poor drunks!
I used to work in a very upscale bar in my hometown. It's a nice area, and we have quite a lot of famous footballers and BBC types since it's not that far from London.

Behind the bar was what we called The Money Bottle. It was a very nice Remy Martin XO, and it cost £18 a measure. Nobody would buy it of course, which is why we were instructed to ask drunks if they'd like one, take their cash, and give back their change in the smallest denomination we had so they would never check, or know how much they had paid.

Great job though, footballers trying to show off would let me keep the change from a £20 for a single pint as a tip.

I've got a bottle of XO.
I daren't open it. I can't think of an occasion monumental enough to warrant it. So it sits there, undrunk - and therefore a complete waste.

open it - it's expensive but not silly price??!?! I thought it was only about 100 quid a bottle???? I say only, I have 10 quid to last till Friday.

XO
Nothing personal, but I can't stand that attitude. "Oooh - it's expensive, therefore we can't drink it". Rubbish - it's a decent Cognac and it was made to be drunk. If you ever find that "celebratory moment" you'll pop the cork on champagne, not cognac.

A mate of mine was given a bottle of Louis XIII after he bought his house acouple of years ago - we drank 3/4 of the thing in the glorious sunshine after a barbecue, and it was perfect. Any excuse is good enough, just make sure you drink it with people you want to share it with. Otherwise you're just going to leave it there to become untouchable until the next generation - what a waste.

Ah, yes. Other people.
Being a deeply antisocial singleton, that's where the difficulties start.
