This may sound likea stupid idea but:
Lots of people this year seem to be alone and uncontent. Why not arrange to meet up with other like-minded people next year?

Sad and aloneI considered going out to see the fireworks at Alexandra Gardens - if you are alone, someone will adopt you rather quickly - but you see, it was 41 degrees Celsius during the day, and didn't drop below 30 at night. So I hid in my house with the fan on.
(Also I stayed up til 1.30am playing Heroes of Might and Magic: In The Wake of Gods. Clearly my world is cold and without hope.)
