VagabondDepression is usually a little more complicated than just feeling a bit sorry for yourself. I don't condone committing suicide but people with depression are seriously ill and need treatment not scorn.
I hope that it works out and he is going to be ok.

This is generally the problem.There is far too much use of the word depression when use of the phrase 'i'm feeling a bit down today' would suffice.
