Licking a 9v battery is pretty funky on your tongue.
Doing the same with a 16V, 5A 1950s (or thereabouts) Meccano transformer isn't so good.

We took this a stage further
and encouraged one of our engineers to lick the end of a 24v DC power supply. He is still amongst the living but did lose his sense of taste for a while.
