Pointless Experiments
Pavlov's Frog writes: I once spent 20 minutes with my eyes closed to see what it was like being blind. I smashed my knee on the kitchen cupboard, and decided I'd be better off deaf as you can still watch television.

rewired a plug
so of course I wanted to test I'd done it properly, but to save time I didn't bother screwing the back cover back onto the plug. Using the palm of my hand to give it a good solid push into the socket, I came to on the kitchen floor with an incredibly sore hand and arm. No burns though!

I did that
when replacing a PC's power unit fan, I thought I'll test it before i put it back together.
2 hours later I come to against my wardrobe, 6 foot away from the PSU on the floor.
Found that as I put the power cable in, I held the nice big capacitor on the other side, making me the easiest route for the mains to pass.
Hasn't affected me *twitch*

I did that too
When I was replacing a fuse. Now the nice plug making people make it so you can't take the plug apart and to replace the fuse you just flick out the plastic clip holding it.
