Pavlov's Frog writes: I once spent 20 minutes with my eyes closed to see what it was like being blind. I smashed my knee on the kitchen cupboard, and decided I'd be better off deaf as you can still watch television.

yes.
cue 4 year old self spluttering with panick and having to be picked up from school by angry parents to be taken to the doctor then the hospital where she was wrapped up in a blanket so tightly she couldn't move her arms or legs and having a some bizarre instrument inserted up one nostril to remove the stone.
apparently, doctors have a small pair of pliers especially designed for removing small items from peoples' noses.
nice to know.

Yep, my neighbor stuck a snail up his nose when he was four. Every time he tried to get it out, he just pushed it in further. Trip to the family doctor and all, and shortly after getting home he decided to...
accept his brothers bet of $1 to see if he could fit a snail up his nose. Genius.

Tried it with one, got that out, then decided to try it with another to make sure.
Well, repeat to ensure results are accurate and all that.

before posting mine!
I didn't tell anyone about the mothball up my nose (until now). I can't remember how long I had it up there. Glad I didn't have to go to the hospital, though. Yikes!

Can't remember the name of the town or university but anyway... A hospital in a town in the USA invented a vice type thingy that was solely for the removal of billiard balls from uni students mouths. Apparently it was a very common beer induced 'accident'.
