HmmI'd say the best way of dealing with that issue, is not to go to Disney.
We took my daughter there when she was 4, and she fuckin' loved it. She had her photo taken with dozens of the creepy men dressed as characters. That's more or less what they're there for.

I'm with youI took my kids (3 & 5) to Disney Land Paris a few weeks ago and they had the best few days of their lives. I used to be a bit anti-Disney but their animated films knock the socks off any others and the kids love 'em.
If you don't like it, don't go. Simple as.
