This is a question Family Feuds

Pooster tells us that a relative was once sent to the shops to buy an onion, while the rest of the family went on a daytrip while he was gone. Meanwhile, whole sections of our extended kin still haven't got over a wedding brawl fifteen years ago – tell us about families at war.

My brother was a low level cunt to me for many of my formative years
he would still be now if I wasn't taller and harder than him. We get on ok now, but I have distinct memories of him waking me up by grabbing my head and repeatedly smashing it into the bed, or me having a nosebleed over the sink in the kitchen, and him squirting me in the nose with a super soaker from the side, spraying my blood across the room.

He doesn't remember being a twat all those years.

I was that type of low level cunt
It's written into the big brother code to toughen up the whippersnapper. Like your family, my brother is now two inches taller and built like a young Arnold Schwazenegger. He's mostly forgiven me for my transgressions.

I've got my own back
by stealing his friends to form my band.

and one of my mates (who remembers the abuse) always calls him beachball head

Wha?!
Sounds like standard big sibling behaviour. Obviously didn't work though, man up! You've nicked his mates, and they call him names?! Are you still in Primary by any chance?!

nicking someones mates
and your (different) mates calling him names is much more effective when you are only a few years either side of the 30 mark.

Oh yes he does. You said: "I [am now] taller and harder than him".

haha
I see your point, but that wouldn't make a difference, I believe him when he says he doesn't remember it.

I was just such an older brother
Well, I don't think we ever fought physically (good job as he is now 6 foot four and a stone heavier than me), but I was a bit of a twat to him. I think in retrospect it's because we're quite alike in many ways and I took my self-loathing out on what I saw of myself in him, if that makes sense?

Since then I've been away to university and become a lot more comfortable in my own skin and I now think he's a bit of a dude (though I don't think either of us have changed much - just goes to show, eh?), and things are slowly starting to thaw between us. Give it a few more years and I hope we'll be friends. Sorry Joe.

Not worth a post of it's own
but I too was a bit of a shit to my sister when we were young. I'm only two years older so not much difference but I did some pretty cuntish things. My point is that although I am aware of my shitty behaviour, I have forgotten 99% of the actual stuff I did. Add to this the following:

- No-one ever got seriously hurt
- My sister and I get on very well now (despite being massively different people)
-She has also forgotten most of what happened

You find that, as has been previously mentioned, this sort of thing is standard older sibling behaviour.
