Family Feuds
Pooster tells us that a relative was once sent to the shops to buy an onion, while the rest of the family went on a daytrip while he was gone. Meanwhile, whole sections of our extended kin still haven't got over a wedding brawl fifteen years ago – tell us about families at war.

Is anyone else dreading Christmas now?
I know that's a bit off topic, but all these tales of woe have reminded me how much I hate christmas...mostly because it's spoiled by having to deal with family.

This is why
i don't see my family at christmas anymore.
Me and Lady S have a nice relaxing time together, maybe have a couple of mates over.
Then two days MAX at her folks, back for new year, then down to my folks for a weekend sometime in january.
I always remember someone on Grumpy old Women saying about how she couldn't understand people who moan about seeing their family at christmas. "You're a grown up. You have free will. if you don't want to go, don't go."
While it's a simplistic attitude to take, I sort of agree.

Yeah, but it's four days
split in two and spread over 6 or 7 weeks
Rather than a HUGE FUCKING FAMILY RUSH all in one go.

Wise words there...
Definitely take control of that situation, dude.
Family Xmas was grim in our clan until I said I'm not coming one year. They've been a lot better behaved since. Plus I do all the cooking now anyway cos my Ma can burn snow.

I am away from home...
...for the first time this Christmas. Me and my lovely fiancée will eat interestingly cooked [poultry of choice], drink huge amounts of Pepsi Max, and play an awful lots of Need for Speed and Runescape.
I am 22. I cannot wait.

I'm not going home for Christmas
Yay no family Christmas etc... only I agreed to go to my friend's family Christmas instead. With our married couple friends. Who fight. A lot. I'm starting to think my own family might have been the better option :/

Actually
I enjoy Christams. I used to hate it but since leaving the parental abode I look forward to returning and meeting family and friends. I have a quite a large family (Irish Catholics) and a few of us are spread around a bit so Christmas is one time of the year I am guaranteed to se at least a few of them.
Having said that, there are no feuds that I know of in my family so we all get along pretty well.
