Changing nappies
I went to change a friend's baby's nappy, which was full of fairly unpleasant mustard-coloured baby shit. Cleaned all the shit off, applied nappy rash goop, all going well.

Just as I was about to put the fresh nappy on, she decided to curl another down and shat all over my hand. Lovely.

So, I wiped it off into the toilet and washed my hands fairly carefully, and cleaned her up again and put the fresh nappy on.

What? It's only baby shit. Babies do that.

Post parenthood poo cynicism.
Somewhat out of place, this week.

I'm not even a parent
I grew up on a farm though, where cute little orphaned baby lambs will cover you in all manner of deeply unpleasant poo four times a day when you give them their bottle. And there's usually a dozen or so to get through.

At least the lambs are never going to turn into ungrateful teenagers.
What with the bolt through the brain, and all.

You can spot which of this week's contributors are parents by their attitude to shit
My firstborn's very first act upon entering this world was to shit copiously all over me. I was so proud: a healthy disrespect for authority figures and lack of concern for prissy social niceties.

To be honest, the milky, yellow poo that smells faintly sweet is actually ok once you get over initial shock/disgust.
It's when the solid food starts that it becomes real shit. And once you realise you already wipe your own arse 3 or 4 times a day, dirty nappies are nowt.
