Have you ever started a fire?I went to sleep with candles burning - woke up to a circle of flame on the rug. Thought, "Tits. Better put the rug in the bath and turn the taps on." TIP: Don't put a burning rug into a fibre glass bath. I caused about £5000 of damage to the house and was coughing up smoky black phlegm for a few weeks. Can you beat that?

as a small child,i didn't actually start it,but...one fine day,i was sitting in our sunroom with my mother,listening to folk records on our new record player(it was the 70s,all right?). it was a beautiful sunny day and we were really enjoying ourselves when suddenly the record began to slow down and lovely,bright flames began to shoot out of the top of the machine(maybe it didn't like Joan Baez?).fortunately we had the french doors that lead to the patio wide open;cool as can be,my mum pushed me aside,chucked the flaming thing onto the patio and turned the hose on it. the next day she took it back and got a refund!
