I'm not happy with the differing sound levels on my ipod So much so that I have done nothing about it. I annoyingly have to change the volume up or down accordingly.

^ ThisIt is sooooo mildly frustrating, and occasionally, when playing a playlist, I get my ears blasted and have to rapidly turn the volume down. It can ruin my minute.

You can, of course go into each track's properties in iTunesAnd adjust the volume if it's relatively too quiet/too loud.
If you've got a couple of days to do it one track at a time.

Replaygain can do that automatically.And there are also a load of tools that'll convert it to apples own arse-backwards way of doing things.
