I was overstating it a little.
However, I don't even think it's about being used to having your own room -- it's the fact you're never alone for the entire week.
Having no privacy at all, especially as a teen, can be extremely hard to deal with. Whilst the young girl in question is without doubt priveledged I don't think that has as much bearing on things as suggested in the original post.
I was kidding a little about Bradford but in my teens I know I certainly would have preferred that.
