I've just politely turned lisping, be-suited bible-tract-wielding children (accompanied by do-gooding evangelist parents) from my door. They didn't ask for money, but I bet they sucker you in first. They had an new angle - save the planet from global warming through the word of god.

I don't believe in god or man-made global warming.

My money is safe. Well, until the Old Testament style floods begin and I have to spend it all on a boat.

That's a new angle
the last lot at my door were practically offering to cure cancer. All I had to do was sign up for the "Newsletter".

My asking why God would only cure my cancer (which I don't have, thankfully) if I gave them a fiver a week didn't go down too well. Especially when I suggested that such a mercenary God was not the one familiar from my childhood.

(Actually the one from my childhood was going to ensure I roasted in hell for the slightest infraction - not all that much fun either)
