I've just tried the Roulette betting thing...all was going well, winning a pound each time. Nice.

The last 12 or so rolls failed to produce a win so now I'm £2048 down and I can't afford to place another bet...

If anybody can think of a good get rich quick scheme, I'd like to hear it. It's got until 3pm to work and get the cash into my bank account...

You should've read the replies to said post - exactly the same thing happened to me - I lost out too, albeit on a more student-esque scale.

Although the odds of not hitting 12 50/50 rolls in a row seem to be 0.5x05x0.5x0.5... = 0.012%, in actual fact the odds of the next roll have nothing to do with those before it, so it's still only 50-50 (or actually about 48% because of the '0'- so what seems 'impossible' actually isn't.

You probably know all this. Sorry to hear it's gone tits-up. I'd suggest that if you're truly fucked, Egg will give you the cash hassle-free (just hide the egg card and pay it off on the sly. 17% interest though..)

I don't abdicate lying to your spouse, but doesn't seem like you've that many viable options.
