In my 31 years on the planet
I've managed to work one thing out.
There's nothing wrong with religion. Religion's meant ot be a good thing. It's people. People are, for want of a better description, stupid, intolerant, mindless twats when you put a lot of them together in a group.
If there is a God up there, he must be tearing his hair out when he watches the six o'clock news. Although, to be honest, he probably watches Eggheads these days.

Well he's got lazy, hasn't he?
Back in the Good Old Days of the Old Testament he'd be out and about on Earth, guiding battles and smiting left, right and centre. He's obviously feeling his age now, preferring not to interfere and just to let us get on with it.
In fact I can't help but notice that the hands-on approach to running mankind has been lost since his son started to take an active role in the business. Typical really - nepotism is always the start of a slippery slope. Too much happy-clappy "Love Thy Neighbour" and not enough Pillars-Of-Salt.
