As has been demonstrated this very week to someone close to many peoples' hearts right here on B3TA, your time could come unexpectedly and abruptly. Seize the opportunity and don't put things off until tomorrow, you might not be around then.

If you are lucky enough to live a long life, better to regret the things you HAVE done, not the things you haven't. I'd rather adjust the 50 years accordingly to justify the choices I made, than watch my life dribble away in nondescript blandness.

"Prepare for the future, live for the present."

What on earth does that mean? Every option that you choose inescapably denies you the opportunity of choosing several other options. So for everything you HAVE done there's a whole bunch of equally good and important other things that you HAVEN'T done as a result. Shagging someone at the office party may be something that you HAVE done and may turn out to be an experience that you look back upon fondly, BUT as a result what you HAVEN'T done is remain faithful to your girl/boyfriend and invested in the future of that relationship.
