This is a question Bizarre habits

Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic tells us: "Until I pointed it out, my other half use to hang out the washing making sure that both pegs were the same colour. Now she goes out of her way to make sure they never match." Tell us about bizarre rituals, habits and OCD-like behaviour.

My microwave
Beeps three times when its done cooking. It does it in perfect time to the first three bars of the Imperial March from Empire Strikes Back and i ALWAYS have to do the last "da-da-da da-da-daaa" either whistling or playing out in my head.

I got loads worse when my daughter was born and we heated up the milk.

When im in the office i have to have my phone on the left side of my desk sitting on top of my post-it pad.

ITYM
First three notes, not first three bars.

I'd pay good money for one that did play the first three bars, though.

when our oven reaches its preset temperature
it beeps 5 times at the same tempo and note as the "la la la la la's" in the chorus of "Loving You." It starts about 0:45 in here-- www.youtube.com/watch?v=kE0pwJ5PMDg

If either my wife or I are around to hear it, we have to finish the chorus.

Funnier if I do it--she's an actual trained soprano, and I'm a baritone.

Oh, yes -
I've got the same thing on the XP shutdown four-note-thing (hardly tune). It's always followed in my head by the rest of the Sonic 1 music for the Labyrinth Zone.

Even though it's not *very* close:

I have Windows 7
Every time I shut my PC down, I think it's playing the first note of "Nobody Does It Better" by Carly Simon, and instinctively add the rest of the instrumental...

I used to have a shop
and the door bell thingy used to play what sounded like the first 2 notes of 'Born Free' and I had to continue it in my head. It drove me fucking mental.

You're doing it wrong, you should wait till it's nearly done then press cancel twice quickly to terminate the sequence (twice sounds like once so it doesn't count) extra points awarded for catching it in the instant between 'done' and beeping so it stops with no sound other than a disgruntled twang (like a very quiet CRT monitor degaussing boing).
