This is a question Homemade Booze

SpanishFly writes, "I have a 'make your own absinthe' kit here, fucking terrified of making it...

"Tell us your stories of when you got so drunk on homemade mead you pissed in the cupboard.
Or tell us about the time you tried to buy wine stabiliser but got chased out of the friendly merchants shop because that compound is used to bash cocaine.
Tell us about the trials and tribulations of not being able to afford 4 cans of strongbow and couldn't brew your own poison so you got pissed on antifreeze and the next day pissed in your own mouth."
Thanks SpanishFly. MAKE THE ABSINTHE

So you basically have a stripped down version of the German Rumtopf. This is a favourite of theirs usually consumed at Christmas. The formula is a measure of whichever fruit is currently in season, an equal measure of sugar then cover the whole lot with dark rum. Keep adding to the mix as the fruits come into season. By Christmas time you have a pot of evil fruit and delicious liqueur. The strawberries are particularly potent.

Yup.
I can see rum would work well too. Must be really sweet by the time it's finished though, maybe a bit too much for me.

I think we can say, any booze + any soft fruit = jolly good booze.

You are right in that the booze does get quite sweet. The fruit on the other hand is anything but! Leave the liquor for the girls and get stuck into the fruit would be my advice.
