but if you don't milk domestic cows they will have a lot of problems - they have been bred to over-milk and are not actually capable of surviving without intervention according to a few vets I know - same with those ridulous bulls that are like cubes of beef - they're actually pretty much useless in the wild as they're totally adapted to the production of meat/milk, as opposed to being adapted to being a cow...

I agree with the feminism/fox hunting comments, though - I have no problem with drag hunting, culling with a shotgun, the upper classes, rural life or any of that - I just think it's an inefficient way to kill one fox and it's more about trying to relive the glory days when the landowner rode around on his horse, trampling peasants and having their way with the local farm girls. It's also the nearest they'll get to the cavalry charge against the French at Crecy, or being a character in a Sharpe book. Then again, I'd like to find the ecomentalist that keeps putting wire across the bridleways at neck height to stop mountain-bikers and rip their lungs out of their arse.... :-)

is surely utterly illegal? How about round the clock surveilance of the area until you find the bastard, take photos of him doing it, beat the crap out of him (with an alibi- claim the camera was "on a tripod and automated") and throw him neck first into the chord a few times.

I'm from a farming village but had forgotten. i guess the milking is a good thing then. without a time machine or a rebreeding program theres nothing to be done. poor bovine buggers.

mountain bikers however, they're just bastards. Like bloody walkers too. you should see what they're doing to the hills round me. worse than the quarries (oh and the guy who was doing it near us was no environmentalist, just someone who didnt like the noise or the 'yobs trying to run over my mum'. good point, bad plan (i walked into one on the way back from the pub and at walking speed it near tore my head off).

i think i'm hitting the "ah god, just wipe us all out (not me) and start again" point :D
