Sennheiser make some of the best headphones
When I got my first pair (HD570's) the stuff you can hear... well, you put it best. The difference decent reproduction kit makes is insane.
They're also the cause of the mixing desk everything has to run through now as it's all I have that can drive the bastards.

Yep it is a bitch that very few stock amps will drive them.
The other problem I have now is that listening to my ipod, with things compressed at 128k though (bose) earbuds is almost impossible. It just sounds wrong.
What sort of mixing desk are you running them through?

I went with the Alessandro MS-Pro for this very reason - they dont require a dedicated headphone amp. I have a custom headphone amp I had built a few years back, and they drive Senns and Beyerdynamics etc really nicely, but the MS Pros just dont need it.
The only problem with the MS Pro (which is a Grado but less harsh) is that when people have a listen they wont take the damn things off again.

Have to admit I hadn't heard of these before.
I have googled them and they look quite smart. The MS pros are only 32ohm impedance, I guess that is why just about any amp will run them!
How do they compare to Sennis and Beyers in terms of reproduction?
