This is a question Meeting people from the internet

Monty Boyce asks: Have you ever had a real-life meet with somebody you first knew from the internet? How did it go? How long until the Asbo expires?

How exactly do you ‘meet’ someone on facebook?
All sounds a bit stalkerish to me.

Friends of friends have added me after gigs and things like that...
I've then chatted to them next time I saw them... I suppose that could be classed as "meeting through facebook".

I believe it used to be known as "meeting through a mutual friend" :)

Yeah that I can understand,
If say you both commented on a mutual friend’s status update and then started having a bit of banter with each other etc leading you both becoming friends and then possibly more.

If however you have no mutual friends the only possible way you could ‘meet’ would be if you one of you were to be browsing lists of women (I would guess it would invariably be the men doing this) looking for ones that have nice profile pictures and then sending them a “hey baby whats up you look hot” message, which is pretty fucking creepy really.

Stalkerish would be emailling them pictures of your genitals every ten minutes rather than just adding a friend of a friend,
what's you email address?
