Operation Fox Hunt
O.K. So, I technically haven't met Rupert Fucking Murdoch - yet.

But I know him well from the poisonous, lying BULLSHIT he has fed my country for too long. In print, the airwaves and on my lovely internet.

If you have met an Australian with some alarmingly ignorant thick-headed ideals, odds are even that that is a Murdoch-'educated' zombie. And sadly there are millions of them.

Britain will FOREVER be my idol for showing the way and having the balls to stand up to him. That pie got very little play here. Because
...dun dun dunnnnn....

70% of the media in Ausfailure is owned by Murdoch.

No, I haven't met him - but we are coming for him.
And we are legion.
I hope he expects us.

click this. click it like a poorly-trained chimp if you want people to know they are not alone in this.

click it if you are insulted by the complete lack of integrity shown by those we entrusted - and paid well - to provide us with whole, unbiased information and you want your freedom of mind, and your money, back.

click it because, sweet holy fuck, I appear to be utterly shameless in regards to this matter :S

He doesn't give a shit what any 'roo-shaggers that disagree with him think. He's lived in the USA for donkey's years.
He's even got US Citizenship.
So I doubt very much he's that bothered about your opinion. Closing the News Of The Screws won't make that much difference to him, it was nothing more than a PR excercise and he'll probably just give it a couple more months before launching The Sun On Sunday.
Losing the BSkyB deal won't even cost him very much given that he pays no personal taxes in the UK and NewsCorp will be able to write off any loss of profit as a tax loss. And so many of our politicians are still in his pockets that the phone-hacking scandal won't do his influence much harm in the long run.

With due respect, stuj, you are aware that Operation Fox Hunt is an international campaign, right?

www.outfoxed.org/

Although I believe he is being set up as a bit of a 'straw man' decoy to take the fall for what is an empire full of morally-bereft, money-grubbing, social-engineering corporate suckholism, the fight will not be over once he retires.

www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/cifamerica/2011/oct/23/rupert-murdoch-news-corp-dictator

The fight will be over when the biased, editorialising, LYING media is bought to its motherfucking knees and made to apologise and offer full restitution to the innocent people it has pilloried, and when ethics and decency are installed back into their fucking houses.

Australia still needs to know what this fucker has done to US for when he tries to run back here for a 'peaceful retirement'.
(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 5:11, closed)
Yup.
And it STILL won't make any difference to him. Is he ever going to see a single day in jail? No. When you get that rich, laws are like icecream, because you OWN the lawmakers. But hey, you just carry on fooling yourself that you're 'Sticking it to THE MAN' if it makes you feel any better.

www.avaaz.org/en/australia_media_inquiry/?cl=1353405007&v=10832

its not about incarcerating an old man.

its about informing the people he has lied to for decades that they HAVE, in fact, been lied to.

p.s. whining, hand-wringing and flapping about helplessly probably seems 'logical' to you, but it isn't really helpful to anyone. And following your (non)advice is no way to get shit done.
(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 5:29, closed)
Whining, hand-wringing and flapping about helplessly is exactly what you are doing.
Like I said, feel free to carry on as much as you want to. IT WON'T CHANGE A THING.
And those chumps that were lied to for decades? Fuck 'em. Fuck anyone who ever bought one of his rags or his satellite dishes. You think they didn't REALISE what sleazebags him and his reporters are?
But yeah, enjoy your little moral crusade while it lasts.
(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 5:55, closed)
Amazingly
I agree with Stuj. If you don't like it, don't buy it. I went to Australia many years ago, and their terrestrial television showed the level of the populace- point in question:

The stuff I can recall over there on TV was:
Bananas in Pyjamas
Johnson & friends
Neighbours
Aggro on morning TV.
Neighbours.

And that was it, ad infinitum. At least Murdochs bunch put on some decent stuff, as has been shown over here ( not being funny, but Sky Atlantic has some wonderful programmes on at the moment, so much so that my Sky+ is full of stuff from it), and gave the terrestrial TV over there a much needed boot.
I do agree his rags are shit, The Times has even dumbed down now, but you do have a choice- DON'T BUY IT.
(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 7:10, closed)

not really sure how Bananas in Pyjamas re-runs are as evil as bald-faced lying on network news bulletins, but I also cannot begin defend a media that gave the world Neighbours or Home and away.
So there's that.

Ask yourself though, whose channel was spewing the aggro on morning TV?
(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 7:30, closed)
haha...wow
You seem personally offended, do you own stock in FoxNews or something?

Why are you so aggrieved that people are *finally* speaking out that you just had to register your pointless point of view?
Do you have anything to contribute here...or...?

btw, NO. I don't think everyone realised how corporate-minded and sleazy Murdoch got because it happened incrementally, while world events were causing the people to look the other way.

Word of advice.
Don't try to argue with most of /talk
It's like trying to fuck a slug having squeezed a whole tube of KY over your hands.
EDIT: AB & Shambles are good fun to shit-stir tho.
(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 10:53, closed)

hey, who is arguing? I'm merely pointing out how they are all totally wrong and I'm awesomely right.

There is no room for argument there.
(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 11:15, closed)
you were better before.
now you're just a reactionary tory shit.
(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 4:53, closed)

calling someone from a different country, with different political parties than yours, a 'tory' just makes you look pretty fucking dumb - not really the look you were trying to pull off, I bet.
lol u republican lol.
(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 5:12, closed)
Oi, knock off the republicans
some of us like Malcom Turnbull (not really but don't tell him - he's scary) & Lizzie is in the country. Perfect time for a revolution if you ask me. Viva.... ahh fuck it where's my beer?
BTW - I got the joke, just went on a tangent with it. ;)
(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 9:20, closed)
Phew.
What a scorcher.
(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 7:51, closed)
You're coming for him?
What will you do when you get him? More to the point, what will Wendy do to you?
(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 8:55, closed)
Sorry Gritty,
I lol'd. Also don't fuck with Wendy Deng -. looks like she's got a mean right hook
(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 9:13, closed)
But...but they can't have ALL the pie!

I've decided to start getting all the information I need by decoding the blurb on bottles of vitamin water. And the messages hidden on number plates.

Very good post
What the fuck are you prattling on about?
(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 9:38, closed)

tl;dr?

mankind drowned in bathtub filled with its own bile and vomit.
trolls laughed.
all is whole again.

Your tinfoil hat is rusting.

(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 9:57, closed)

I have been looking for tinfoil for years now, but all I can find is aluminium foil. Its a plot by the illuminati to steal my soul.

But you can feel free to jump in here and add some facts detailing how Rupert Murdoch is actually a great man and his contribution to world media has been nothing short of exemplary conduct all around.
Just to make this character assassination fair and balanced.
(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 10:02, closed)
"if you are insulted by the complete lack of integrity shown by those we entrusted - and paid well - to provide us with whole, unbiased information and you want your freedom of mind, and your money, back"
well I've never bought one of his newspapers and I've never paid for a Sky subscription

I never once suspected that the Murdoch empire was providing "whole unbiased information"

In short, you sound like a mug complaining "I didn't know he was a con man!"
(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 10:17, closed)

simply reaping the benefits of hindsight doesn't mean you are cleverer than everybody else.
I never claimed that I believed the lies or bought one of his scandal-sheets. I just want my world to be free of his crap - an OUTRAGEOUS position to take, granted, but mumbling to myself with a stiff-upper lip and a campaign of frosty glances and localised tutting gets one nowhere.
(, Thu 27 Oct 2011, 10:53, closed)
why don't you
just switch off your television set and go out and do something less boring instead?
