Long distance unrelationshipSome years ago I applied for a job at Warwick University. I heard nothing back for a couple of weeks, then got a phone call at 5.15pm one day asking if I could be in Warwick for an interview at 9am the following day. "No, I'm afraid not" I said "because as you'll see from my form, I live and work in Glasgow. However, I could get to you for noon tomorrow."
They said they would let me know, but I heard nothing until a fortnight later I had a letter saying that my application had been cancelled because I had "failed to make myself available for interview."
It was no great surprise to learn on the grapevine that the job had gone to an internal candidate.

If they asked you to be in Warwick,you should have taken it as a sign that they didn't really want you.
