Well my mate said his new girlfriends brother played the drums for them.

Bullshit I thought.

Went down the pub to meet her and sitting next to her was the drummer from thirteen senses.

Hmmmmm not really any lying going on there.

So, in absense of any reference to the topic, what you're basically doing is posting "My mate's girlfriend's brother is the drummer from a little-known band"? I'm impressed, but then the only famous person I know is my mate's girlfriend's brother's mate's cat. It wrote the theme tune to some TV program you've never heard of, don't'cha know?

surely for him to be saying the he knows someone famous
it would be someone from a band that people have heard of.


for example: at uni I knew the girlfriend of the guitarist from Cooper Temple Clause (his name is Fish for some reason)
