Staring at everyone, mumbling under his breath, a general torrent of 'too many fucking foreigners coming over here for the easy life, bastards' with the odd outbreak of staring at and racially abusing my wife.

I was really pissed off and had asked him to be quiet/move/get the fuck of the train before I broke his thumbs, but despite my foul mood I still had to laugh at the unintentional irony of his parting shot as he got up to leave-

'Too many of 'em over here for an easy ride. Immigrants bringing the country down to their level. That's why I'm moving to Spain- They know how to live.'

I really hope that a pissed up Spaniard has given him grief for 'going over there for an easy ride'.

No, he won't get any grief
because he will drink in English pubs, and won't encounter any Spaniards if he can possibly help it.

I listened to an English woman, in one of those little ex-pat boozers, in the mountains somewhere in Spain, ranting to the Brit "locals" that she was outraged and disgusted when she last went back to her home in WALES (6 months there, 6 months in Spain). "Her" street was now full of "fucking Poles and Russians", and "no fucker speaks English there no more".

Now, I possibly AM a racist, I'm certainly no happy-clappy-let's-all-live-in-perfect-harmony-playing-piano-in-our-multicultural-melting-pot-because-we-are-all-descended-from-immigrants-at-some-point-right-on type of "nice" person, I'll happily watch old Bernard Manning and Jim Davidson shows, and find them funny, but that was beyond even my limit. Worst of all, she was 100% serious, she wasn't trolling for laughs, cynical or otherwise.

I'm loking forward to the day they get burned out by the Spaniards, so I can tell them to get the fuck out of MY country, and fuck off back from whence they came.

Do you remember the TV Series 7 Up?
It tracks the lives of a number of people starting when they were 7, returning to them at 14, 21 etc.
In the most recent one they are 56 I think.
Anyway one of the guys they talked to was an East End guy and spent most of the time complaining about all the damn foreigners coming over and taking all the jobs, and no one had asked him if they could come and live there. Then in the next scene he was sat by his pool in Spain complaining that the nearby chippy had closed down and no one spoke English there.
