This is a question Why I Love/Hate Britain

This week's been all about the Daily Mail and why people love or hate their country. Tell us one thing you hate about Britain, and one thing about why you love it.

This shouldn't be an excuse for RACISTLOLS, or long lists of things you dislike. Be intelligent, be funny, and be interesting

I love the great British Pub
Intelligent conversation
Proper beer and stout
No obligation to tip
etc.

I hate the great British Pub

Pissed up wankers wanting to start a fight
Shoving at the bar at closing time
Overpriced beer
etc.

I too love the great British pub.
But, the tipping thing I've learnt to live with since leaving for the New World. I mean it doesn't seem unreasonable to give someone 60p to pour you a pint, if they don't get paid otherwise.

Although I hate to say it, all the great beer is being brewed in America these days. They really have got their act together, and surpassed Europe on the beer front.

The reason British pubs are so great is they are a place to go and socialise, in other countries you tend to just talk to the people you went with.

Yes, because a few American brewers make a few passable craft beers based on copying they sure
have stuck it to the Germans and Belgians. As for the English style of secondary fermentation in the cellarage stage the Americans are clueless.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHA.
I live in Sheffield and we're spoiled for choice for great breweries.
Kelham Island Brewery, Abbeydale Brewery, Thornbridge brewery to name but three all make excellent beer and you don't have to take out a second mortgage to buy a pint
