If so what side effects do you experience?

I've been on the stuff for over 10 years to control my epilepsy (or as my wife likes to call it 'spaz disease'. Never really had any side effects at all. When I first started on it I had to take a very samll dose for two weeks (50mgs) and increase the dose every two weeks by another 50mgs 'til I got to 400 mgs. I guess they make you do this for a reason. Is it supposed to do some mental stuff if taken in large enough quantities then?

Getting overly tired which I think may be a side effect?

but in general I know it's unusual to develop side effects after taking something for that long without problems. I'd suggest a trip to your GP just to check it out.

I got double vision for a couple of days so I wore an eyepatch when I went out . Apart from that, nothing.

From 200mg down to none - I'm @ 50 for a couple of weeks then 25 for 3 weeks then none.
Itching, serious headaches - thought my eyes would pop out of my head. Fucking intense lucid dreams, auditory hallucinations and lack of sleepies. Could be exacerbated by coming off nortyptaline recently too but I had similar going onto lamotragine as coming off. After that I'l be just plain vanilla crazy. Yay.
