I had a far less scary incident involving a bleeding cock, caused by my own impatience after having the chop some years ago. With 7 stitches still in, I had a bit of tug to see if it felt any better. It did, but I split a stitch, and the claret that poured into my lap almost made me shit myself. Thankfully, it soon stopped.
In your situation, I'd have been crying too.
