Our university campus nurse was amazing....
There was the annual mumps outbreak on campus, which prompted the uni to make sure we all had the MMR jab.
I was just behind one of my best mates and we both went in the room together. My mate starts telling the nurse about the last injection he had with the "six pricks" which caused him to faint.
The nurse came out with the best reply ever "If i had six pricks inside me, of course i'd faint!!!"

Haha!
I wish I'd thought of that line. The only time I've fainted was in hospital, after getting - yes - six pricks of anaesthetic injections into my big toe in prep for an ingrown nail removal op.

Woke up to find myself out of the transport wheelchair, on my back on the floor with a pretty nurse holding my legs up to get the blood back into my head. Which was fine, but I was in one of those lovely backless gowns so my 14 year old bum and two veg were out and on show to all. Teenage embarassment time!

toenail resection
... I think they call it. I've had several. First was NHS - full operating theatre job (though not under general anaesthesia) to take almost the entire nail off. After a week's hobbling about, it slowly grew back worse.
Remainder all done by a chiropodist. He said he'd never known anyone watch the whole process quite so closely... Highlights for me were the ligature thing to minimise blood flow and applying the phenol. I couldn't look away, and didn't want to. Maybe because of the previous screw up, or because of the butchery of my dad's feet by an army surgeon for the same complaint (well, there was a war on - but is crippling your own men the way to win?) Or I'm just weird - yes, that's probably it. Sorry about the involuntary indecent exposure, though - hate those gowns!
