This is a question Mix Tapes

Everyone's made a mix tape (or CD, USB stick, or whatever kids do these days). Mostly to get in someone else's pants, but we're sure there are other, lesser, reasons too.

So, who did you make it for and why?
And... what was on it?

I think in the dark ages when we made mix tapes from the radio
you'd listen to your favourite tape for ages and ages and know the mixed in follow on track or the words the DJ said by heart.
To this day, when I listen to Detatchable Penis by King Missile, I still hear the late, great Tommy Vance on the Friday Rock Show saying 'Off the wall. King Missle.'

EXCATLY ^^THIS^^
When I was but a young thing before pocket money had been invented :(

I had a tape of self recorded highlights from that beacon of goodness on radio 1 the Friday Night Rock Show...I treasured that bloody tape....listened to it on a daily basis. As a result I can't hear the opening bars of ACDC's Highway to Hell without mentally adding Tommy vances's gravelly growl.."And this is ACDC and they are on the Highway to Hellllllllll"

I remember
Him playing the Slayer cover of Iron Butterfly's In A Gadda Da Vida and when it was finished...

..."Phew".

Best non-articulate review of a track ever.

ah...
those were the days.....when you had to wait for hours, nay days, for the song you want to be played.....preferabally without the DJ talking at either the beginning or the end of the song
*sigh*
