^yesStill an issue, though dissemination over the Interweb removes some of the dangers. It's still estimated that within 5 years of its creation, digital data will be obselete given changes such as file format, software upgrades, hardware migration, media disintegration, etc.
The European PS3 isn't entirely backwards compatible - there are only certain PS2 titles it will play.
