On the subject of funeral songs...The ex-mother in law succumbed to nasty secondary breast cancer a few years back. Once she knew that there wasn't any chance of recovery, she told us that she didn't want a miserable funeral, and wanted people to laugh and remember the person she was. And she desparately wanted something appropriate musically as her coffin was sliding into the furnace. After much discussion on this subject, we all agreed that there was only one choice (I did think she was going to expire there and then from laughing so hard).
And so, when the day came, and she slid towards the flames in her wooden box, she was accompanied by her favourite artist, Elvis, singing 'Return to Sender'...
Bless her and rest in peace. Lovely woman.
