Modern Life
Modern life is Rubbish, suggested Damian Allbran of Pulp
He might have had a point. What was better about the good old days, or conversely do you believe the modern world to be the zenith of civilisation?

"I know that we were negligent and that your child has suffered a number of avoidable birth defects,
and, yes, raising this child is now that much more difficult, and you'll likely both have to give up work. But, really, if you sue us, you're really just suing yourselves so, if you look at it that way, this is really all your own fault."

There's two sides to every argument.
I'm on my side.

el monstro is correct though
Negligence and misdiagnoses have horrendous impacts on the lives of people. If compensation is due, and deserved, then so be it. What's not on is a deliberately litigious environment where people sue for the fuck of it.

I agree with you and had I wanted to include negligence in my argument
I would have made a different statement. My point was that you used to be able to make a genuine mistake without having Lawyers R Us crawling all over you. So sue me!

Me too but if someone needs compensation use a
compensation calculation department and pay it. My main beef is when the briefs end up with more than the victim, or in the case of those two poor kids who died from CO poisoning, the travel agency that was being sued gained far more than their family did.
