This is a question My Saviour

Labour leader Ed Miliband recently dashed into the middle of a road to save a fallen cyclist. Who has come to your rescue? Have you ever been the rescuer?

The problem is......
...the principle of Freedom of Speech.

If the mods censor comments, they become the saviours of b3tans who are sane and rational, but they also set themselves up for a damned good kicking by denying the right to contribute inanities, profanities, bigotry, racism, homophobia and just about every other -obia I can think of. Oh let's not forget the insidious piss-taking of the mentally handicapped too.

Yes, the board is screaming out for rationality, but for every 50 or so really trite (alright?) comments, there's the odd gem which still makes me laugh. It's a shame that brains can't be engaged before fingers hit keyboards.

I'm with your sentiments, but many people died in order to preserve the very principe that you wish to deny others. There are no winners, only losers.

Mainly the ones you mentioned in your post.

*sits back and awaits backlash*

The universal principles of freedom of speech dont and never have applied to private forums.. if they did I'd have the right to put the truth about many social issues into the pages of the Daily Mail.

A government can't (or at least shouldn't) stop its citizens speaking their minds (except if they think certain naughty people are actually kinda ok!). A Private entity has the total right to police behaviour on its virtual property.

And its visitors have the right not to visit.

Well don't let us keep you, petal.
You're clearly unhappy here.
