How nerdy are you?
This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.
So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?
As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.
Revel in your own nerdiness.

I guess I'm not the only one...
I tend to plan my life around the Radio 4 schedule.
Nerdy, or just middle-class?

You're not the only one
At the moment the book at bedtime is something by Georgette Heyer, who I love.
Weds at 11pm is Night Watch.
Fri at 6.30 is to be the Now Show again. I know to not listen on a Sunday morning for at least an hour because that's the Archers omnibus.
Mind you, 'listen again' means that I don't have to keep to a schedule anymore! I can have a social life on Wednesdays!
But I still mourn the passing of 'The Museum of Everything'. Does anyone know if they're going to do another series?

nerdy, definitely nerdy
as otherwise I would have to be categorised as middle class (though I seem to have achieved it somehow, despite my solid working class origins). Anyone for Waitrose?

Haven't you heard of Listen Again ?
and I think it is more class than nerd-based. My parents raised me on Radio 4. I haven't done the same to my own children, and as a result they now watch *shock horror* commercial television; and go to McDonalds, given the chance. Truly I have failed them.
Still, doesn't Charlotte Green sound like she would be *filthy* between the sheets ? Sadly I have just Googled her..don't do it. Although I still would, in the dark, for *that voice* whispering filth to me.

Waitrose is great
They don't have a "value" brand, and their higher prices for the same products keep the vermin away.

Well....
Must admit I have become rather attached to R4 over last few months, mainly on very long drives (I mean driving long distances not in and out gravel drives with a gate at the end type of thing)..I'll shut up now.
