How nerdy are you?
This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.
So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?
As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.
Revel in your own nerdiness.

Everyone remembers their first time
The first time I walked into a Maplins it felt like comming home. I was so overjoyed that such a place existed a tear ran down my cheek

Indeed. But why, why, for the love of fuck why...
...do I keep coming out of there with a 'couple of spare' pots/jackplugs/coils of wire/etc for my guitar when I don't even have a soldering iron that works? Why?

I prefer
those local shops you get that sell everyhting maplins does in the way of little parts and pieces you can't get from elsewhere. Thier components are stupidly overpriced and so are all little bits n bobs, whereas you go and find an awesome shop that is local (such as potts when i lived by Derby) and they sell you everything the same but a helluva lot cheaper and the staff actually know exactly what you are on about whenever you ask for something instead of looking blankly, i mean, they're not exactly pc-world standard, i'll give them that, but they're not awesome either!
