This is a question How nerdy are you?

This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.

So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?

As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.

Revel in your own nerdiness.

Maybe I just have a good ear?
Recognizing sound effects that have been re-used from other productions. Games, movies, music, etc.

Not remotely famous ones like the Wilhelm Scream, I mean something like one of the menu sounds from X-Com: UFO Defense being re-used for the inventory screen in Resident Evil. Not deliberately, either, it just came to me.

And seriously, how many fucking videos are going to use some for of Requiem for a Dream? There should be some kind of form to fill out before you even make an AMV.

I fear something is wrong with me.

i do that as well. Do you also find yourself watching films and seeing where things have been took out? or where they've sped up/slowed things down on TV films?

and...
Sodding Garageband loops are everywhere. Don't even get me started on 'clubbed to death'. Another story for another day

Don't look for weird edits so often...
...but I do find myself trying to figure out how to play songs, particuarly drum beats as they're easiest.

Do you suppose you can get kicked out of air guitar competitions for having too much experience?

And...
why does everyone use that same sodding telephone ring noise? The one they use in The Sims. You may have perfect pitch, which I think I have. I heard a lorry honk its horn and thought "that's the same as the first two notes of Gonna Fly Now". Same sort of thing.
