This is a question How nerdy are you?

This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.

So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?

As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.

Revel in your own nerdiness.

Nerdiness comes in many forms... but there are some worse than others. My brothers and sisters of the b3tan Empire, I have a confession to make.

I have written fanfiction.

And it gets worse. It was Harry Potter fanfiction.

Still, it was written at the request of a lovely girl, so that cancels out some of the taint.

Fan fiction
Fan fiction isn't all bad. Wheel of Time fan fiction is how I met my near-as-you-can-get-to-perfect other half.

She told me to!
In my defense, it wasn't done under my own initiative :) A friend asked me to write some, as a random challenge, and I took her up on it.

Bonus points to anyone who can guess the pairing ;)
