The nicest thing someone's ever done for me
In amongst all the tales of bitterness and poo, we occasionally get fluffy stories that bring a small tear to our internet-jaded eyes.
In celebration of this, what is the nicest thing someone's done for you? Whether you thoroughly deserved it or it came out of the blue, tell us of heartwarming, selfless acts by others.
Failing that, what nice things have you done for other people, whether they liked it or not?

Someone sent my wallet back to me...
...from Amsterdam.
I was foolish enough to leave it on a train on my way to a hockey tour in Delft, when I realised I cancelled all my cards etc, but when I got home a week later it came through the post with €5 taken out and a little note explaining that the lovely dutch lady who found the wallet took it to pay for postage - the remaining €45 was still there.
How unlikely is it that I would ever see my wallet or my money again had I left it on the National Express?

^^ This restores my faith in humankind
Similar thing happened to me - only my wallet was posted through my door - with EVERYTHING inside, no note or anything.
Mystery person - if I ever find out who you are, I'll have your babies (or summat)

As someone who works for National Express trains ...
... its the people who nick things, not the company.
I had a lady come in to see me, she'd fallen asleep on the train with her laptop on the seat beside her in a case.
When she awoke: No laptop.
The man sat on the other side of the train said he'd seen the man opposite her get up, put his jacket on, pick up the laptop and get off the train. He hadn't known if it was his or not, but readily admitted he should have been suspicious when the thief already had a laptop bag in his hand.
But most people are honest... if I had £1 for every phone thats been handed in....

Snee
If you live near me, it might have been me.
Found a wallet one night while out walking the dogs round the block. It had scattered somewhat in the road, cards and bits of paper etc. everywhere. I picked it up, checked out what was there, found a name and address that was close by, and walked over and posted it all through the letterbox.
I even suprised myself to be honest. If it had been oodles of cash then I think I would have kept it, but for the sake of a few quid, and all the personal goodies one keeps in a wallet - meah, I just know how fucked off I would have been at losing mine.
