I don't budget, I'll be shopping based on convenienced. It'll be a case of 'in-BANG!-out'

I know who I need to buy for and they'll get what they're given - they'll also get a receipt so they can take it back, get a refund and buy what they want.

Simple.

Everyone gets too much over Christmas as it is, they won't care that what I've got them other than the fact it'll need to be changed.

I've got no significant other to worry about and the family know I hate Christmas, so they have low expectations, and I make it my mission to fall short of these low expectations.

Have you got anyone near by who can call in on you to change the DVD's and to make you a hot Ribena?

It;s not an approach I personally use...
I like buying people presents, getting them something thoughtful that I know they'll like/enjoy. Sadly I also see a lot of stuff I want and the temptation is always to spend on myself rather than other people!

It's a load of commercial bollocks designed, by retailers
To put the average man in the street in debt in order to fit a profile.

Why should you feel obliged to spend time with people you would ordinarily want to spend time with? Why are you suddenly forced to spend time with people you don't want to spend time with? Why are we forced to listen to tales of sickness and suffering and then told to feel grateful for where we are in life.

Those who are suffering suffer all year round. Those who can't afford - what is deemed a 'proper' Christmas are made to feel like shit based on the consumer culture and those people you hold dearest know you love them by the time you spend with them.

The same applies for Mothers/Father/Valentines day. I love my parents, and I spend more than enough time with them to tell them. Likewise, when I'm in a relationship, if the going is good, you'll think everyday is valentines day. Why should I feel obliged to spent three-billion quid on some shit flowers?
