So I texted Roota urging her to "Get a photo of the four of you together". She texted a pic of them both standing together. I then cringed at how unfunny and embarrassing I am and hoped she didn't actually say that.

I very much doubt that
I feel really bad for people who are in the public eye (albeit a decision completely their own choosing) and are constantly associated with one thing and one thing alone and endure twatty comments from highly original members of the general public. In my defence I didn't actually think she was mingling in the same room.
