Guess which restaurant I'm going to tomorrow?

(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 21:40, 1 reply, 15 years ago)
DIMITRIS???

(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 21:41, Reply)
FUCK YEAH
what should I get?!
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 21:46, Reply)
EVERYTHING
Do the tapas, and get a selection of dishes, definitely. The dolmades, keftedes and falafels are my personal favourites, Current boy would recommend the piri-piri chicken.

Also, if you don't have baklava for desert, it's practically blasphemy. It comes with greek yoghurt so you can kid yourself it's the healthy option.

I'm definitely having baba ganoush
it's my new favourite, and I've discovered it's very easy to make. Just need to find somewhere selling tahini.

I've not had baklava in ages...

It's so nom.
But not as nom as hummus or the almighty tzatziki
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 21:55, Reply)
Hummus is super nom.
Can't believe you've not been to Aladin's yet though. Next time I'm in Manc we must go. Best falafel I've ever had.
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 21:57, Reply)
I fucking love falafel
this sounds promising. I have yet to find anywhere in Brum that does nice stuff, sad times.
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 22:00, Reply)
The falafel at Aladin's are amazing.
Encrusted with sesame :D Aladin's isn't in town, though. It's about a 5-10 min stroll from my old school, which was 2 miles out of the centre of town.

My ex used to live in Withington
it's nice round there.
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 22:05, Reply)
Really?!
I went to the school on Wellington Road, if you know of that particular mental asylum...
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 22:07, Reply)
Oh, I know where you mean
He lived opposite the Solomon Grundy. I think I'd like to live in Withington if I ever moved to Manchester.
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 22:11, Reply)
It would make stalking your ex easier too.

(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 22:12, Reply)
Eugh, I wouldn't
I'm well rid of that tosser. Besides, I'm almost certain he doesn't live in Manchester at all anymore.
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 22:21, Reply)
Oh goodness
Apples and I rendez-vous'ed at Fuel a week or so ago. Withington en't bad at all, very studenty though, and I think there's quite a bit of crime.

Where I live is lovely, if very commutery.
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 22:13, Reply)
I love Dimitiris.
Lucky bugger!
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 21:50, Reply)
I've never been before.
I know that Apples loves it, so suggested it. Parents jumped on board.
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 21:52, Reply)
Wonderful food.
Nomnomnom!
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 21:53, Reply)
God damn it I'm hungry again.

(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 21:54, Reply)
Who, what and where is Dimitri's?
I have fuck all else to do this week so may consider a Manc outing.
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 21:53, Reply)
Google it.
Easy to find but can be very busy.
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 21:55, Reply)
Well you WOULD say that now, wouldn't you.
I'm off to London on Thurs, I would have shown you my favourite haunts.

Dimitri's is a Greek restaurant, on Deansgate in Manchester.
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 21:56, Reply)
I do know Manchester well-ish
but Dimitri's I have never heard of. Ah well, next time I'm up/next Manc bash, eh?
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 22:00, Reply)
You've definitely more chance of finding me in London
I'm rarely in Manchester nowadays. Visit Font, Footage, Junk, Oklahoma and Teacup for me.

/love how all but one are food/drink places...
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 22:01, Reply)
Is Oklahoma
the tea/record/oddments shop? If so I've been there. And font is the place that does shot cocktails?
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 22:06, Reply)
Font is next to the Cornerhouse (which is in itself awesome)
Oklahoma doesn't sell records nowadays if they ever did, but they rent DVDs, have smoothies and lots of odd things.

Temple is another favourite, too.
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 22:08, Reply)
Best. Restaurant. EVAH,
My favourite since Ristorante Italia at the other end of Deansgate closed.
It's Greek, tapas mostly. It used to be tiny and really personal and lovely, it's since expanded a bit but it's still awesome. It's opposite the Hilton on Deansgate.
Oh and book in advance cos it's always packed.
(, Tue 28 Dec 2010, 21:57, Reply)
I haven't been for quite a while and hoped it was still as good.
