I can recommend the pouches of Bachelors stuff
if you like curry then the Chicken Balti soup is well worth trying.

The ones that come in little plastic pots that go in the microwave are good too. Particularly Sainsbury's moroccan chicken one

my main objective is to avoid really high calorie ones. I saw a soup that was about 500 calories for one smallish serving

Bachelors Express I think is the name, even the meaty, ricey ones are fairly good calorie wise. Filling too.

I find that a lot of the tinned ones taste the same after a while.

I like meaty soups but wouldn't trust them from a can so that may be a very good option thanks.

I made soup for the first time a few weeks ago
I am now kicking myself that I didn't start earlier, it's reeedonkulously easy to do and a good way of using up miscellaneous vegetables.
