the names of the books and the fact that he looks, as you say, like Ming the Merciless do not do him any favoursbut he does talk some sense. I read them in Sixth Form, when Marilyn Manson was all the rage, and a goth mate of mine had them. I got some stick for reading them in the common room, but frankly I probably would have got the same amount had I been reading any book.
