My only hitchhiking fail
was on the way back home from a hitch to Lowestoft, purely for a pint and fish and chips by the sea. I got dropped at junction 13 of the M1 on a Sunday afternoon, stood near a layby half a mile down the wrong fucking road for an hour wondering why there was no traffic. I walked back up to the junction, stood on the right exit next to cars and trucks zooming off the roundabout with nowhere to stop, held my sign out for a pointless hour of trying to look happy.

As the sun started to set, I gave up and walked three miles from the junction into MK and caught a cab home. I never wish to be stranded on J13 of the M1 again.
