Ah, sorry, I had a part to play in that one
I think it was largely bought about by that chap who called himself (among other things) Badongism and was eventually hounded off here by spimf. The Boat meme made absolutely no sense, but provided a bit of gentle whimsy for a few days. (Possibly weeks.)
