Funny how their career trajectory changed so suddenly, eh? Now you've got Nero, signed to C&S' label, making more Pendulum-lite poppery. I shouldn't complain, from my point of view it's a hell of a lot better than the mid-90's, when everyone wanted to sound like Oasis

Everybody shit tried to sound like Oasis.
Spiritualized and Primal Scream made two of the finest albums of that period and sounded nothing like Oasis.

You have to admit that Give Out But Don't Give Up was a change in direction for them though
Even if it was obviously much better than anything Oasis did, it wa still disappointing by their standards. And Screamadelica preceded Britpop, in fact part of my problem with that whole scene is that it killed British music's creativity stone dead just as it was threatening to get interesting.

i was referring to Vanishing Point.
Their best record by a long way.

And compared to the first two, Give Out wasn't really a change in direction, just a step backwards.

The first three songs on it are superb though.
